16 Weeks

16 weeks pregnant...that means 4 months!  What?!??!?!?  Where has the time gone?  Before you know it, we'll be in the second half of our pregnancy!

It looks like there might be a little bump forming, but it's definitely not enough for people to offer me their seats on the train yet.  I can't wait for that to happen because the half hour train ride into the city does not agree with me in the morning!

Baby Updates:
According to "The Bump" the little one may be able to hear my voice at this point because little bones are forming in their ears.  I guess this means I'd better keep the swearing to a minimum at work now!  Whoopsies!

Second Trimester!!! 14 Weeks!

Check out the cute teddy bear from Auntie Kristen Swanberg Rossi.  You'd never believe it but it's made from 100% recycled bottles!

News from Week 14
We had our second appointment this past week with Dr. Critchfield, who was great!  We tried to listen to the heartbeat using the doppler, but didn't have any luck since my bladder was empty.  Oh well, that meant we had to check with an ultrasound.  You can imagine that we were not too upset about having to take another look at our little one!  He/she was definitely more developed than the last time we saw him/her.  After the appointment, we were able to book the date for the ultrasound which will (hopefully) tell us if Baby Swanberg is a boy or a girl!  Thursday December 13, 2012!!  What a wonderful Christmas gift that will be!

Whoa!  A lemon!?!

How has Baby Swanberg grown since last week?
-Almost doubled in weight!-
-They can suck his/her little thumb and wiggle his/her toes-
-Growing hair!-
-Kidneys are working so he/she is producing urine-

13 Weeks--Last Week of the 1st Trimester!!!

At 13 weeks pregnant I'm at the tippy tip end of my 1st trimester.  My belly looks smaller than it did last week, which may have something to do with us running out of my pecan pie cheesecake!  Haha!  I am finally starting to feel A LOT better and the nausea is almost nonexistent.  This is a good thing because I've only lost weight since I got pregnant. I need to start putting the pounds back on!!

This week, our little one is about the size of a peach!  It's hard to believe since my belly doesn't look a whole lot different than it did before I was pregnant.  Some exciting developments from this week are that baby Swanberg is forming teeth and vocal cords.  Other news is that they have already formed their fingerprints and their intestines are moving from their umbilical cord into their stomach.

Last week, we had a little scare, but luckily, after a quick ultrasound, we saw Baby S's heart beating strong!!  Phew!!

11 and 12 Weeks!

Baby bump update:
I think I've gotten to the point where I just look like I'm getting chubby, haha.  Hopefully soon it will be more obvious that there's a baby in there instead of looking like I've had a really big meal!

Baby Swanberg Update:
In the past few weeks Baby Swanberg has grown from a prune to a lime to a plum!

Some exciting developments:
--able to move around--
--fingers and toes are no longer webbed (woohoo!)--
--tooth buds, hair follicles and nail beds are forming--
--he or she is developing reflexes (apparently if I poke at him/her they will move in response!)--
--opening and closing fingers and curling toes--

Some not so exciting developments:
--I had a massive headache that lasted for 2 days!--
--This morning on top of my headache, I threw up 3 times at work--

Luckily, the end of the nausea is in sight!  We are ALMOST out of the first trimester which means I should start feeling better and get my energy back soon.  I cannot wait!!  Caleb has been so great and has been taking good care of me.  Everything from cooking dinner, doing laundry, and washing dishes.  Maybe I will pretend to not get better, haha!
